PRIMETIME CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING YEAR END AWARDS 2017

JERK OF THE YEAR

Nominees: Paige Knight, Edge, Sasha Banks, The Throne, Pete Dunne

These are the nominees for the most heinous, nasty, and downright meanest members of the PCW roster.

PAIGE KNIGHT
For years, Paige Knight has been a prominent part of the women’s division, establishing herself as one its cornerstones. However, the year 2017 showed us a new, darker side to the raven-haired young woman. The rebellious, yet melancholic staple of the division started to courrput into a sadist, bent on seeing everything around hurt, just how she had hurt throughout her entire life. You could argue that the broken young cornerstone wasn’t in the right mind in the year 2017. However, that cannot excuse her for telling AJ Lee to commit suicide, taking part in ending the career of multiple PCW personnel, and manipulating The Four Cornerstones into imploding on one another, she did some pretty unforgivable acts. We hope she can finally get the help she needs, but never the less she is more than worthy of this award.

SASHA BANKS
[CENSORED] you. And [CENSORED] you. And [CENSORED] you too. Whether you hate to love her or love to hate her, one thing most PCW fans agree on is that Sasha Banks was a grade-A jerk. With instances such as her willingness to invite Carmella's father to see their match just so she could injure her in front of him and interrupting one of Raquel Diaz's matches in Eddie Guerrero's lowrider, Sasha has proven time and time again that she wasn't exactly the nicest of people. Although her tenure in PCW wasn't as lengthy as some may of hoped Sasha had made quite they impact during her time aboard. She helped Rebel defeat the monstrous Nia Jax and bully her out of the company as well as getting the attention of then PCW World Heavyweight Champion, Edge, on Twitter. Whether it was on the camera or online, Sasha was relentless with her mean streak and God speed to any who ticked her off.

EDGE
For a period of time in the beginning of this year Edge was the best in this company... and he never let you stop hearing about it. Whether it was his constant gloating about him owning Finn Balor, his brandishing of the PCW World Heavyweight Championship, bragging about his draft status, or even flaunting that he had everything the people wanted, Edge always made sure to rub it in. Edge was the kind of superstar to look you in the eye, tell you that he had your back only to walk out on you. Edge was the ultimate jerk.

THE THRONE
When you combine chronic, diabolical narcissism with attitude, you create The Throne. Undisputed PCW Heavyweight Champion of the World Cody Rhodes and his Queen, Alexa Bliss, started PCW's most infamous faction in April of 2017, complete with followers in the form of World Tag Team Championship Number One Contenders the Authors of Pain, former Television Champion Marty Scurll, Queensguard Thea Trinidad, and Hall of Famer and wrestling icon Ric Flair. All seven members of the faction achieved success over the course of 2017, including two championships and more than five Number One Contenderships. Whether it be to PCW personnel or other PCW Superstars and Knockouts, the Throne reigned over 2017 and PCW with ruthless fervor and obnoxious demeanors. Disrespecting everyone in their path, the Throne proved itself to be a force to be reckoned with, both in terms of in-ring ability, of wrestling acumen, and, more saliently, of their personalities. Only a real jerk would demand that everyone around them bend the knee... And only someone or something worse would force those who refuse to do so.

PETE DUNNE
He was young, and he was bitter. But most importantly, he was a real jerk. The winner of the Gold Rush Tournament, and inaugural PCW Champion Pete Dunne was the biggest thorn in the side of many in the early days of Takedown. Alongside his British Strong Style counterparts Tyler Bate and Trent Seven, Pete Dunne did everything in his power to make the PCW fanbase despise him. From attempting to take out each and every man who dared stand up to him, to being a thorn in the side of both PCW and PROGRESS Wrestling talent and management during talent trade negotiations, to basically making Takedown his personal playground while Jack Gallagher was spread thin due to personal issues Pete Dunne made sure everyone hated him, and to him he wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Who will have the privelage of accepting the PCW Jerk of the Year award? Find out on Monday Jaunary 1st, 2017 during the 2017 Highlight Night, looking back at some of the very best moments of this past year!

This is America, Sean— the popular vote doesn’t matter.

What'll happen is there will be two "winners" for every award. A staff pick which is decided by higher ups, and then the board vote which'll be the popular vote, as we've typically done.
